About Us

About Us

Gracelands is a eight hectare lifestyle farm situated in Featherston, South Wairarapa. Christine Reed’s long time hobby of breeding Hanoverian horses has been complemented by the addition of the intelligent Dorper Sheep, White Galloway and miniature cattle.

Gracelands Unique Difference

Gracelands provides accessibility of the unique black head Dorper to local Wairarapa and surrounding area - Manawatu, Wellington, Horowhenua and as far as you require.

Gracelands offers their buyers the best quality livestock. Christine provides accurate recorded histories of each animal which include:
• Pedigree
• Parents
• Treatment records
• Birthing performance

Scientific methodologies are used to help select only the best quality stock for breeding. This includes genetic tests to reduce footrot problems, and a focus on shedding ability to reduce the need for shearing.

Future Plans

Graceland aims to offer the best Dorper flocks in the country.
Dorper Sheep came into New Zealand in 1991 and are still adapting to New Zealand conditions. Christine is breeding more hardy animals with a higher cold tolerance and to avoid footrot.
